Nationwide Warehouse Study

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) commissioned PRIME Philippines to spearhead a nationwide warehouse study aimed at strengthening the country’s food security initiatives. With the support of the Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines (SCMAP), the project sought to establish a comprehensive registry of warehouses across the country. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving supply chain visibility and efficiency, ensuring that essential goods remain accessible and adequately distributed throughout the nation.

The study covered multiple provinces nationwide, focusing on approximately 200 pilot cities identified as key areas for warehouse mapping and data gathering. PRIME Philippines conducted extensive research and validation to provide accurate information on warehouse capacities, utilization levels, and geographic distribution. This effort allowed the DTI to assess gaps in storage infrastructure, identify priority areas for investment, and formulate strategies to better support industries reliant on warehousing and logistics.

Beyond mapping existing facilities, the registry also serves as a planning tool for future development in the logistics sector. By consolidating and systematizing data, the project enhances the government’s ability to respond to disruptions, improve food distribution channels, and support private sector initiatives in strengthening the supply chain. Through this engagement, PRIME Philippines demonstrated its expertise in large-scale research and its role in advancing critical national objectives related to resilience, sustainability, and economic growth.
